Where to Eat Detroit Style Pizza in NYC: Detroit Style Pizza in New York (Video)

Where to eat Detroit style pizza in NYC. New York City pizza is more than just the classic slice. One of the newest styles sweeping the city is Detroit style.

In this video, we will take you to three spots in three boroughs for Detroit style pizza. Each one makes theirs differently!

Here are all of the stops we visited.

1: Emmy Squared
364 Grand St
Brooklyn, NY 11211

Emmy Squared was the first spot in NYC to make Detroit style pizza a thing. The owners launched the successful Emily and had another hit on their hands with this one. Here, we ordered the Colony Square. On this pie, there is Ezzo pepperoni, pickled jalapenos and honey.

2: Lions & Tigers & Squares Detroit Pizza
268 W 23 St
New York, NY 10011

From the creators of the popular Artichoke Pizza chain is Lions & Tigers & Squares. The clever name is an homage to two Detroit sports teams and the shape of the pizza. Here, we ordered a classic and a sausage pie. Amazingly, the classic pie is just $5, an excellent deal.

3: Detroit Style Pizza Pop-up at Boston Pizza
37-08 Broadway
Astoria, NY 11103

A monthly Detroit-style pizza pop-up by Serhan Ayhan at his family’s pizzeria, Boston Pizza. We wrote an entire post about this “tale of three cities” on our blog here: https://foodandfootprints.com/detroit-style-pizza-nyc-boston-pizza
